At Geelong Dance Movement, we are incredibly proud to share some exciting news with our dance community. Our Preschool Coordinator, Alannah, has been awarded the People's Choice Teacher of the Year Award through the internationally recognised Ready Set Dance program.

As the owner of Geelong Dance Movement, I have the privilege of working alongside some truly amazing educators, and this award is a reflection of the impact Alannah has on the children and families in our preschool dance program every single week.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

Alannah was promoted to Preschool Coordinator midway through last year after consistently demonstrating outstanding leadership, creativity, and dedication to our youngest dancers. Since stepping into the role, she has continued to elevate our preschool dance classes in Geelong, bringing fresh ideas, boundless energy, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.

The People's Choice Award is particularly meaningful because it is voted on by families and the wider dance community. It reflects the relationships Alannah has built with her students and the trust that parents place in her to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Bringing Preschool Dance to Life

Anyone who has watched Alannah teach can immediately see why she is so loved by her students. Her enthusiasm is contagious, her classes are engaging, and she has a unique ability to make every child feel seen, valued, and successful.

At Geelong Dance Movement, our preschool dance classes are designed to build confidence, coordination, creativity, and a lifelong love of movement. Alannah embodies these values in every class she teaches.

Whether she's leading a Ready Set Dance class, helping a nervous child settle into their first lesson, or celebrating a student's achievements, she brings warmth, encouragement, and positivity to every interaction.

Leading Our Ready Set Dance Program

Geelong Dance Movement proudly delivers the internationally recognised Ready Set Dance program, one of the world's leading preschool dance programs.

As Preschool Coordinator, Alannah plays a key role in ensuring our program remains engaging, educational, and fun for every child who walks through our doors. Beyond teaching, she helps organise preschool concerts, special events, Ready Set Dance workshops, and community experiences that make our preschool program so special.

She is also consistently working on developing and implementing new ideas that continue to enhance the experience for our preschool families.

Why Great Teachers Matter

Choosing the right preschool dance program is about so much more than learning dance steps. For many children, their dance class is one of their first independent activities outside the home. The teacher leading that class plays a significant role in building confidence, resilience, social skills, and a love of learning.

Families searching for preschool dance in Geelong,

or a welcoming environment for their child's first dance experience deserve teachers who genuinely care. Alannah is exactly that kind of teacher.

Thank You, Alannah

On behalf of everyone at Geelong Dance Movement, I want to congratulate Alannah on this incredible achievement.

This award recognises what our families and team have known for a long time,

that she is an exceptional educator who goes above and beyond for her students every day.

Thank you for your passion, your creativity, your leadership, and the joy you bring to our preschool dance program. We are so lucky to have you as part of the Geelong Dance Movement family.

If you're looking for preschool dance classes in Geelong, dance classes for toddlers in Geelong, or a fun and nurturing introduction to dance, we'd love to welcome you to Geelong Dance Movement and show you why our preschool program continues to grow year after year.

Congratulations, Alannah – People's Choice Teacher of the Year 2025! 🎉
