About
Nikki Hyland
GDM Founder and Director
Nikki Hyland is the founder and director of Geelong Dance Movement, leading with the vision of dancing together with passion and purpose.
After completing her Diploma in Musical Theatre, Elite Dance Performance, and Dance Teaching and Management in Melbourne, Nikki spent a transformative year in New York training at Broadway Dance Centre. There, she worked with world renowned choreographers, performed extensively, and had the honour of performing at the Lincoln Center with Buglisi Dance Theatre for the Table of Silence 9/11 Project.
In 2016, Nikki founded Geelong Dance Movement in a local primary school hall, creating a space where students feel supported, inspired, and empowered to grow. Today, GDM is a thriving community built on connection, confidence, and high-quality training.
In 2023, Nikki was recognised globally as the Ready Set Dance Teacher of the Year an achievement that reflects her commitment to excellence and impact in dance education.
Nikki teaches across all styles, working closely in the Accelerate program, and offers private and small group vocal lessons.
